The Flemish Energy Company (VEB) offers an ESCO service called OEPC (Maintenance and Energy Performance Contract). They act as matchmakers, guiding their clients through the preparatory phases and facilitating audits until they are ready to enter into a contract with a commercial energy services company. The current process is time-consuming and leads to frustrations, both for the clients and the ESCOs. Therefore, VEB has sought external assistance to streamline the process.
Transition Stories led a consortium of technical, organisational and legal partners to reshape the process, update all associated documentation and validate the changes with stakeholders.
The revamped process has reduced the total time required for an OEPC process from more than 20 months to less than 10 and made it more transparent for all parties involved.
