The Terbekehof Business Park is located south of Antwerp and is typical of the situation in Flanders: a medium-sized area with several significant industrial players, in an environment that is gradually being modernized. The business park association, which is currently actively networking, is looking for more strategic ways to work around energy. This is especially important now that the city’s heating network also passes through Terbekehof.
Under the impetus from POM Antwerpen werden Sweco and Transition Stories were appointed to transform the area into an Energy HUBt where sustainable energy is locally generated, exchanged, and consumed.
The assignment included not only designing the concept, conducting a potential study, and developing a business model, but also working with companies to effectively establish the community within the business park association.
Transition Stories’ role involved drafting and calculating the business case, creating project plans for each involved company, and guiding the entire process.
