City of Leuven sought support in implementing their neighbourhood energy strategy. Transition Stories offered specific assistance to integrate their ambitious heat policy into city policy, launch the Pilot Cities, and turn the energy strategy into a concrete action plan. This included guidance on how to research local energy or heat companies, advice on their added value for the heat transition, and support in leveraging technical research for heat networks.
Transition Stories developed a comprehensive process diagram divided over three crucial phases: 1) orienting, 2) exploring and starting up, 3) implementing, adjusting and scaling up. Firstly, the focus was on exploring the opportunities and challenges, while then actively initiating concrete actions. Here, a detailed plan of action was drawn up and guidance was provided to effectively launch the initiatives.
During the implementation phase, Transition Stories played an active role in supporting and adjusting ongoing projects. This included not only facilitating operational aspects, but also optimising the governance structure to ensure smooth progress of the projects.
