The Flemish Energy and Climate Agency asked Transition Stories to formulate concrete measures and recommendations for one-stop-shops around renovations in the residential sector. This is a crucial part of the long-term renovation strategy 2050.
Support local renovation strategy and renovation rate
In recent years, several energy-saving measures were taken in both Flanders and Wallonia. Each of these focused on an aspect of energy consumption or generation. However, because these were separate projects, much potential remains untapped. That is why Transition Stories has been commissioned to further develop and fine-tune the one-stop-shop model for home renovation. That way, more in-depth renovation projects can be requested for more homes. This immediately gives a big boost to regional and local renovation strategies. After all, a higher renovation rate is essential to achieve the climate objectives.
What are we going to do?
Specifically, Transition Stories will get to work on vetting the sector of one-stop-shops for achieving deep, energy and individual home renovations. With this market intelligence, we will build an overview of some promising ideas and good practices. The aim is to develop a catalogue of measures and a roadmap that brings together good renovation practices to support different stakeholders in performing intensive energetic housing renovations. The project started in February 2022 and will run for 12 months.
