Nathalie Van Yck
Office management &
project support
Nathalie graduated as a journalist from the Plantijnhogeschool in Antwerp in 2007. After her studies, her ambition may not have been to cover the news, but she did build on her sense of language, text and image in this direction.
From 2007, she worked mainly in administrative positions. In 2009, she started working as a hotel receptionist. A position where administrative skills, communication and customer contact were important. She then took over the family business and ran a shop as a self-employed professional for five years.
As a person, she developed a keen interest in ecology and organic living, after which she decided to bring these topics into a webshop of organic cosmetics and sustainable alternatives to disposables.
Due to an increasingly busy personal life, she gave up self-employed status and went back to work for her previous employer where she quickly rose to hotel manager. In an 84-room hotel, she managed several teams and always made sure the hotel was up and running both in front of and behind the scenes.
An interest in ecology eventually followed where it couldn’t go and so she joined Transition Stories in 2022, hoping to help build a greener world. In her position, she takes on office management, focuses on project support and regularly pulls out her pen to copywrite.
